The prize list of this year’s An Post Rás na mBan has been further boosted with the announcement that world renowned cycling accessories manufacturer Oval Concepts has agreed to support Ireland’s premier women’s stage race.

Oval Concepts, the US firm that has worked with top engineers and Formula One aerodynamicists to introduce ground-breaking technology into bike racing, will present its mouthwatering 981 Carbon Clincher wheelset to the overall winner of the Best Irish Rider in this year’s event.

The highest-placed rider from the local racing scene at the end of the five days and six stages in County Clare this September will win the wheelset valued at over €1700.

The Best Irish rider Competition (formerly known as the County Rider Competition) is supported by Clare County Council and the coveted prize of the Oval Concepts 981 wheelset will be presented along with the final Best Irish Rider jersey at the end of the final stage in Ennis on September 14th.

Meanwhile the top Young Rider at the conclusion of this year’s race will win an example of the Oval Concepts 960 Carbon Aero Base Bar. The renowned time trial cockpit offers the best properties of light weight, aerodynamics and durability in a combination valued at over €700.
